Doctor Who 2009 has just released Fire and Ice. Doctor Who 2009 is a fan based production group “making a series of short films celebrating the BBC TV series Doctor Who.” The production quality of Fire and Ice is amazing. The acting is a little forced at times, but never distracts from the story. Overall, it’s extremely impressive for a fan created project. Kenneth Raymond Moore stars as The Doctor and Jennifer Richman as Alice Hemingway. Doctor Who 2009 provides a Bit Torrent link of the entire episode in DVD quality format.

Starting out as a manga, Astro Boy first hit Japanese television screens in the 1960’s. It was a major influence, helping shape anime as we know it. I never was fan of the original, only seeing a few excerpts from the manga and/or clips of the television series. As a result I carry little, or no, baggage with me about this CGI update. Does it over Americanize the concept? I don’t know and I don’t care; not as long as I find it a fun movie experience come October.
Just discovered this production clip of a Doctor Who anime. Impressive work by Paul “OtaKing” Johnson. The story is highlighting the Jon Pertwee “Man of Action” Doctor, with fantastic new designs for the Cyberman and Davros. Perfect choices for an anime style Doctor Who.

Perhaps one of the coolest, most professional, fan made movie trailers I’ve ever seen. Great montage of clips that work really well together, providing a realistic feel. Makes me anxious for the real Green Lantern movie trailer.
